I’m Jennifer and I’m excited to meet you!
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate with a Master of Education in Counseling and Development from Lamar University, supervised by Danielle Bowman, LPC-S(TX).
I transitioned from a career as a business & human resources professional to become a mental health professional out of a desire to use my skills and knowledge to have a massive impact on the health and wellness of my community. My focus is to provide care for adolescents, adults, and families struggling with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, relationship issues, and career/life transition with a focus on multicultural counseling theories.
About My Philosophy
Feeling stuck? Overwhelmed and misunderstood? Battling intrusive negative thoughts? Experiencing angry outbursts? Feeling like you’re trapped in a bubble, isolated, and invisible? Does it seem like no matter what you do, life seems chaotic and out of control? Or that your relationships are on the brink of falling apart? Well let’s talk about it!
I specialize in partnering with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, racial stress, relationships, life transition, and work-related stress. I am passionate about providing a safe and accepting space for you to heal and shift from just surviving to thriving. Therapy is not a one-size-fits all approach. As a Black woman, I understand how cultural values, generational trauma, and constant societal changes impact how we process life experiences and have been through the same journey of healing. I take a holistic approach to healing focusing on mind, body, and spirit through person-centered, strength-based, evidence-based, and culturally aligned practices.
I believe clients are the ultimate experts in their lives and my role is to be a supportive partner during their journey of healing and self-discovery. Your choice to participate in therapy is an act of self-love and self-care and I look forward to taking that journey with you. Schedule an in-person or virtual appointment by contacting me via email or phone.
